Bottoms Up!
Today we helped cut in some new trails at the Knob. The new downhill section is going to be really sweet. A decent crowd showed up making the work go quickly. I was a little late getting there due to the frost on the wagon. I had no idea that frost could actually form on the inside of a window so I had to get the tea candles out to speed up the process.
The best part of the day was right here. This photo is definitely worth 1000 words as we see Feeman proving that beer and mud do not mix!

V...D....B....!
Another year, another Pro, another death. The drunken crash years ago should have been a big sign that his life was in turmoil. Despite VDB's bad boy antics over the years I always had a soft spot for this famous Flandrian. Yeah, he was the typical cycling rock star in Belgium which meant lots of drugs on and off the bike. But when he won a race there wasn't a pub in Belgium that wasn't packed. Those are some hard core fans and they stick with a guy through thick and thin. Not so much can be said about Americans. How 'bout them Browns eh?

The new British Columbia?
So it is now the most wonderful time of the year. Which means Christmas break with the family and some pretty low key riding. I have been off the bike for 2 1/2 weeks now except for riding to work yesterday. It was raining with a headwind, as usual. But it occurred to me that the ride was probably going to be the best of my day, and I was right.
Last Sunday I went to the Knob to help with some projects Kevin had going. Mostly work on the slopestyle course, which would probably kill me if I tried to ride it. We did however scout some new XC trail to detour some wet spots. There will be some distance and climbing added, but don't freak out 'cause there will also be better downhills with more sustainable speed included.
I did request that we add lots of tight switchbacks on the climbs to slow down the SS riders. Hey, if never hurts to ask! There will be an XC trail day coming soon I believe so the new course can be cut in.
The Knob is going to be a one -stop-shop this year with all the new happenings. Downhill, Slopestyle, XC....man, all in Wooster!
This is what I have been doing instead of riding. It passes the time pretty quickly.
