No pebble snatching yet.
With the warmer temps coming the road bike has been dusted off and got some use. It had not been ridden since October probably. Of course, the wind has been horrible but I did get to ride with just shorts one day so I'll take it however it comes.
Southwest winds mean only one thing in my book....cheese rides. A proper cheese ride will include the following elements:Amish country terrain, gravel roads(at least 20%), horse crap, long, steep climbs, scary descents, getting lost, and usually a cheese purchase at the midway point. The ride is normally 4-5 hours and best done in the summer heat.
With Feeman in tow we did what I call a 'low fat cheese' ride. Just about three hours and much suffering on his part. It will be a good while before he is ready for the real thing, but it is fun to watch him die on every climb.
Sorry grasshopper, you're not ready yet...now go sweep the damn floor again!
In the meantime, I will be starting a new photo albumn titled:Things I photograph while waiting for Feeman to crest the hill. Here is a sampling of my work.
What you looking at Willis?

Hey, you took all three of those pics on the same intersection! And I was there by the time you took the one in the middle. And what do you expect that $%&^*@+ road had gravel dirt black top pot holes more dirt more gravel and pavement all in a mile and a half section of road. Whar road was that again? We need to do a club ride down it!
Ahhhhh.... So nice to see Wang doesn't discriminate against just making me suffer. Wait until you crest that hill, are lost in Amish Country with no clue on how to get back, and you see him going mock 90 thru the middle of a farm field hollering "get your butt down here you wussy!". If you don't follow, you will have a.) have no cell service and the house up the road doesn't have a phone, b.)nobody at the house speaks english, c.)the girl with the hairy legs milking the cow is eyeing you and you finally realize why you should never stare at the opposite sex - its really creepy, d.)all of the above. The answer is d.) so get your road bike pointed down through that field and watch out for ground hog holes. Best of luck Feeman!!!
brings back memories...sweet sweet sweaty memories...don't forget the really short Amish that look like Oompa loompa's!!!
