Eating much dirt, 153 miles!

This last week was purely awesome. Sunday was the 331 short track race which was pretty fun, yet it was EXTREMELY painful too. I hadn't raced in about 6 weeks but figured it was short so how bad could it be? It was a two race format with combined points for the overall. The start was fast and Clark got into the woods first so I jumped on his wheel. I just stayed there for the first 20 of the 25 minutes plus 1 lap format. He didn't seem too pleased about my presence and attacked hard out of every turn. Near the end I heard Jeremy Grimm closing in on us.....@#$%! darn roadie was catching me on the dirt???? At that moment Clark had finally broke the thread that I was holding on to and I faded as Grimm passed him to and took the win! We had a short break and then did it all over again, but I had gone too deep the 1st time and had NO legs at all. I ended up 3 rd over all with Grimm at the top spot...very nice for his 1st off road venture.(see you at Findlay I hope?) On Tuesday I took the family to Raystown. WOW! Incredible trail network that left me totally exhausted. I can't wait to go back. If you haven't been there it's well worth the drive. And it's an awesome camping area for the family as well. We took my daughters boyfriend Zac along with us. We spent the week taking the most ridiculous risks in the turns and downhills. Rody, I must apologize because I took that lightweight framed Groovy to places it was never intended to go, and it pushed it to the limit in every turn and rock garden. So many Oh @#$&! moments that I can't even count. Honestly, me and Zac should be dead. Like a complete fool he followed my wheel with absolutely no regard for his safety. What's wrong with teenagers these days? You kids have no common sense at all. The Findlay TT is coming up this weekend, the only race I won last year. I must prepare mentally to skim every tree in every turn again if I hope to have another good race there. I will have to rest a bit and replace the brake pads I fried at Raystown.

Rock Gardens at Raystown? Where? You must have been hallucinating with the fun you wre having or somebody artificially made them. I call Raystown a BMX track on steroids.

Well at the bottom of the Sidewinder I officially came face to face with a formidable group of stones that I would classify as a rock garden. Otherwise Rays is very smooth

I find that Raystown was good to visit once but I would never make the long drive just for those trails. Fun, but a little boring and you can all of it in less than 3-4 hours.
